Cardboard City
A student-run non profit called "Buckeyes Against Hunger" had a yearly "Cardboard City" event to help raise awareness for the plight of homelessness. They needed more people to camp out for the event, and to raise money, and while it was a well-organized event—frankly, not many people knew it existed. We set up boxes on the Oval at OSU with provocative visuals and copy, designed and produced custom cardboard coffee sleeves that were placed in Caribou Coffee Shops on campus and made a series of flyers to grab attention. It was important to be contextual so students would look at things (coffee cups, boxes, benches) differently, that they use in their everyday life.
They increased participation by over 100%.
Creating Awareness on Campus
Images depict the central installment on OSU's Oval that literally stopped people in their tracks with curiosity and our coffee sleeves being used across cafes on campus.
